A landmark year for business tourism in Strasbourg

In 2024, Strasbourg Events welcomed 675,000 visitors across nearly 250 events, marking a record year with a revenue increase of almost 25% compared to 2023. Half of this revenue was generated from professional meetings held at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès and the new Parc des Expositions.

These venues, the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès (featuring 3 auditoriums, 23 meeting rooms of various sizes, and 10,000 m² of multifunctional space) and the Parc des Expositions (offering 24,000 m² of exhibition space), enhance Strasbourg’s appeal as a prime European destination for both leisure and business.

Approximately 20% of the activity stems from international congresses, which significantly benefit the local economy: an international delegate spends an average of 3.25 days at the destination, compared to 2.2 days for a French delegate.

The economic impact on the region is substantial, amounting to 192 million euros in 2024. For instance, business tourism in Strasbourg resulted in over 120,000 overnight stays.

These events are organized with a strong focus on social and environmental responsibility (CSR), leading to a 25% reduction in energy consumption between 2023 and 2024, thanks to optimized heating and lighting.

In the coming months, Strasbourg will host several major congresses, including the European Energy Transition Conference, the European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Congress, the annual meeting of the Society of Robotic Surgery, and the Sleep Congress.
